Copenhagen Zoo whistleblower hotline

Welcome to the Copenhagen Zoo whistleblower hotline (hereafter referred to as the "Hotline").

In Copenhagen Zoo we value honesty, integrity, and accountability, which is why there should be a means to report any serious misconduct involving Copenhagen Zoo.

The Hotline applies to all ZOO employees, suppliers, and business partners. ZOO's visiting guests cannot use the Hotline.

Reports are treated with strict confidentiality and in a secure environment. The Hotline provides an opportunity to report any serious misconduct where full anonymity is desired, enabling the disclosure of matters that may otherwise not come to ZOO's knowledge.

What can be reported through the Hotline?

Not everything can or should be reported through the Hotline. Concerns related to issues such as salaries, promotions, disagreements with colleagues, as well as complaints about smoking and similar matters should not be reported through the Hotline. These should be addressed through the usual channels, such as HR or management.

The Hotline serves as a reporting channel for concerns regarding serious misconduct, including but not limited to legal violations and breaches of ZOO policies. Examples of serious misconduct that can be reported to the Hotline include:

What happens when you make a report?

To ensure confidentiality, an impartial and independent third party, in the form of Nyborg & Rørdam Law Firm, conducts an initial screening of the report and determines who should be involved in the subsequent handling of the report. Reports are primarily sent to a hotline group consisting of HR and selected members of ZOO's board.

You will receive confirmation that your report has been received within 7 days of making the report. Feedback on the report will be provided within 3 months of making the report.

You can read more about the reporting process in ZOO's Whistleblower Policy.
